Hello, I thinking about getting the 5 gallon hex I have up and running... so I was just wondering the stocking options I have for it, I don't want to over stock it.

Just a few more questions

Hello, thanks for the helpful reply... I just have to ask though, is there anything else besides a betta that I could put in there... I mean I love the idea of the shrimp, like the cherry shrimp.. just wondering for a different fish... I've never been real fond of the betta's lol.

I can't say enough about cherry shrimp. I got a few for my 10 gallon because it seemed like a neat thing to have mulling around at the bottom. I naively thought they would just sort of mill about the sand substrate. They are totally active! They swim freely, they work over the sand, they hang out in all the live plants. They really are quite active and interesting to watch! I have them in a 10 gallon with some small rasboras and a few nerite snails and they are easily as active as the fish! I just love them.

1. Betta + Snail
2. ADF
3. Shrimp

That is about the limits of your options unfortunatly. I think a 5g is a bit small for gourami's IMO. Good luck.

5 gal tall too small for ADFs, 5 gallon long is a great size.

Considera pair of sparkling gouramis, a pair of everglades pygmy sunfish, heterandria formosa, one dario dario. You can put shrimp in with these, I believe.

Couple endlers,

I would say this setup would work well in a hex:

1 oto
1 betta
1 ADF
1 snail
2 white cloud minnow
