5 gallon tank

Definitly NOT Neon Tetras!!! They need schools of at least 5 to be happy. i mean in my 25G i have 10. But 8 of them are the 2 that breds babys.

white clouds

I wouldn't put guppies in with a betta fish. Some people have had success, but I've found them to be very nippy and bullying with other fish. A gang of orange guppies I had harassed my white platy until it died, then turned on a black guppy and picked at it until it was dead.

Caution light on guppies.

sorry bit I'm a bit lost here
(I know that I ask for a lot) could you do a list of every fish you can out in a 5 gallon w/ a betta...because some people said not to put (for example neon tetras) and some said you could

Thankyou

Sam,
A lot of it is trial and error. Each betta is different and has a different personality. The ones you absolutely CAN put in with a betta are:

Cory cats
Otos
Mystery Snails

Those three kinds of tank mates will not hurt your betta. Your betta may pick on them, but they will not hurt him.

Anything else may pick on your betta. Or not. I wish we could all give you a definitive answer, but other than those three -- which I think everyone can agree on -- anything else is hit or miss.

As an aside: has anyone else other than me tried a pleco? Which is the smallest sized one? I had a common temporarily housed with the betta and it worked out great.

As was pointed out, white clouds are cold water fishes. Some people do keep them with bettas, but the temperature range for white clouds is 64-72, whereas bettas are, ideally, 79-82. If you drop the temperature down to 75 to accomodate both fish, IMHO you'll stress both fishes and run the risk of disease.
