50g Vivarium for Fire Belly Toads

One of my 50's cracked on the bottom. It's just in the corner and I've siliconed it but I would rather not risk filling it with water again. The wife has wanted frogs for a while so we decided to convert it to a Vivarium. It's going to be a huge tank for Fire Belly Toads but that's ok. The dimensions are 48L x 18W x 13H (a short 75g). I'm planning on doing 18" x 18" as land and 30" x 18" x 6" as water. I'm going to use large rocks, driftwood and frog moss. What should I use under the frog moss / driftwood / rocks. I have a bag of the typical brown aquarium rocks (pea size), I also have pool filter sand. I'm assuming I would go with the smaller rocks then some kind of soft base on top like coconut fiber.. Would that work? It would take a lot of coconut fiber to fill an 18x18x6 area.

Is the water in a tub or is it touching the bottom of the vivarium? Firebelly toads dont need lots of soil cause they like hangin in the water

^ But they will happily use whatever land portion you give them. Yes, they're aquatic but they do like land area as well.

I'm hoping mellowvision will respond. He has better tips on building these kinds of things then I do.
