My mom has had the tank for many years and always sticks with the same fish.Kissing, silver dollars, tinfoil? and the ones that they shoot the colored dye in,poor little things. I would love to do her a nice colorful arrangement of fish instead of all the same pale looking ones and maybe some live plants. She got the tank when I was preg. with my son and he is 12 ,the EXACT same decorations in it with the taped scene on the back lol.
Any suggestions? She just retired and would make a nice gift.

I can empathize with how you feel but be careful, she may just like what she has even if it isn't your, or my, cup of tea.

Are you talking about getting another tank or redoing the one she has? You might want to get her in the car for some reason and then just happen to stop by the LFS, just to buy food :), while you are out. That way you too can just "window shop" while there. That way you can comment on some of the different species and pay attention to her likes and dislikes.

Same ole tank, it has the wooden look hoods and the base is a big double door wooden cabinet. She is always saying that she would like to get new fish but just doesn't know what would get along together. She loves the color red and often purchases a betta but never lives longer than 6 months or so.I think she would like some sort of school fish where you would see more than one together. The other fish always seperated to different parts of the tank.I would like to stick to tropical fish. Some live plants instead of her plastic ones, she is an avid gardener so I think its time to grow in the tank.
thanks Tina
