Once I rid my tank of OTS I am going to start slowly restocking it, and I was wondering if these fish would get along with one another or if I would have problems. My goal is to make the tank quite colorful...so far in the tank I have:

2 Mollies
2 Mickey Mouse Platies
2 Gold Skirt Tetra
2 Other Tetra

I was hopefully planning on adding:

1 Red Turquoise Discus
2-3 Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis
2 Gold Veil Angels
6 True Rummynose Tetra (Hopefully they will school)
Upside Down Catfish

Would this be overstocked or would it be fine? Any suggestions and help would be highly appreciated.

I'm not very good with stocking but I could tell you that tetras need to be in schools of six so mabye try adding some tetras.

I would avoid the discus with your desired stocking levels. It would be a bit overstocked with all the fish you listed but it could be done (without the discus).
Invest in some good filtration, clean it regularly and by all means maintain a strict water changing schedule of 50% weekly. You may experience aggression between the gouramis, as well; but in a tank that size it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Should I replace the discus with something else? What about a school of Tiger Barbs?

6 Tiger Barbs
2 Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis
2 Gold Veil Angels
Upside Down Catfish
4 more Gold Skirt Tetra
4 more of the other Tetra

tigers would most likely go after the gouramis and angels, I would ditch them and stick with the rest of the list. Discus require pristine water, and lots of care, think large water changes several times a week... I know some who keep them do 50% a day, usually only in species only tanks.

Those little Barbs would chase the Angels? I could see them chasing the Gouramis though. Id really like to have a few schools of fish that arent all tetra.

Don't replace the discus--drop it from the stock list and the list will be marginally okay. And certainly never put a school of tiger barbs in a community tank--they are not community fish. I also agree that tatras like to school so you should have at least six of any kind. I would trade the two random pairs you have left in to the lfs. Be aware that many people say rummy-nosed tetras are delicate, although I found them to be fairly hardy. Also, depending on what teras you have, the angels could eat them when they reach full size. Rummy-nosed should be big enough that they won't get eaten.

Thanks for the input. I will drop the barbs too.

6 ??

Anyone know of another good colorful fish that would school well besides tetra? I like my Platies and Mollies, but I don't know if I would want to school them...I kinda like them in pairs.
