55 Gallon: Finally Cycled!

Everything's going fine,and all water parameters are good. I bought a ram cihlid for the tank, and he will eventually go in my ten gallon. (i.e. when the bichir gets bigger)
The bichir is happily eating shrimp pellets, and doesn't like it when other fish try to eat it, chasing them away from the food.

The bichir and ram seem to get along great (for now...), the rams hovers right over the bichirs head, its kind of strange. 
Blue ram. Its doing great. They're beautiful fish, I eventually want to get at least one more and attemp to breed them.
I have a quick question about rams. Mine seems to swim, then stop and undulate his fins while hovering for a while, then swim, and so on. Is this normal? He seems healthy, so I'm guessing this is just characteristic of the species. Is this true?
Quite often I see mine doing the same thing. Not really sure what that's all about, but doesn't seem wrong. Kinda funny when you think about it.
