55 gallon stocking ideas?

Hello,

I'll first like to say that I am new here and thanks for letting me join.
Right now I have 8 emerald green cory catfish in my 55 gal tank and I would like to add more fish. What would be some nice fish to add in my tank?

What kind of fish do you have in mind? Do you want schools? Large fish? Micro fish? So many possibilities...

Take your pick from most any tetra, barb, danio, rasbora, rainbow...you've got a lot of options.

I would do a school of 20 serpaes and the corys, but that's just me, cuz I love serpaes. But you could do 20 of a smaller tetra or schooling fish and still get away with possibly an angel.

As others have suggested to me, look into an angelfish pair, or ram pair (bolivian or GBR). You can also make an angelfish species tank and make it amazonian themed. Also look into psuedomogil gertrude, my favorite rainbow fish. ^^ Try to think of a theme or set of colors you'd like if it helps. I'm planning on making my 10g a reddish tank with ember tetra and honey gourami.

nice stocking ideas. I went to a pet store today and saw some male guppies.

Would this work out:
20-25 male guppies
add 2 more catfish
Maybe a Gourami

Some Cardinals, or Rummies....and a pair of Angels

Sounds okay to me, granted not a huge guppy fan...also, they wont really school all that tightly if you're still looking for that kind of fish.

I'd probably stick to the more peaceful gourami species then like honeys or pearls.
