Ok so I have changed the tank setups in the apartment and will post pics when i get home from work. I wanted to check the specs of the new tank to see what folks think, and to see if this is a major improvment. remember i had a 20 gallon with a bunch of fish in it, they are all now in a 55 gallon.

55 gallon: 2 large algae eaters, 4 giant danios (more coming, 1 died last night), 1 opaline gourami, 1 pink kissing gourami, 1 blue dwarf gourami (seemingly sick, sore on its side). The red wag also died last night.

20 gallon: a single 5 year old cichilid that may be in his last days, the move didnt do as well for him as the 2 large algae eaters (called something else i know). the cichilid has been trembling at some times, laying on the bottom of the tank upside down, and other erratic behavior.

10 gallon: now empty again, thinking of using it for a reptile or feeder tank later.

Main questions: Is my new 55 gallon stocked ok?
Cichilid, what do i feed it if it lives, what do i put in the 20 gallon if he dies?

be careful with that mix of gouramis. blue/opaline gouramis can be nasty toward other gouramis in general and other fish that are smaller than they are. kissing gouramis can be just as aggressive towards other fish, but some are not aggressive towards other species (depends on the fish).

the gourami get along fine, the blue dwarf was the one causing problems and he is now in the 20 gallon alone since he has a sore on his side. The cichilid died yesterday while I was at work, it was nearly 7 years old and moving it from one place to another didnt work out it seems, he came with the tank and I was going to give him to a freind at the LFS, so its for the better. My fish all seem much happier with the 55 gallno and this weekend is my birthday so i will get some fish to commemorate that, a few more danios and I would like another small schooling fish in the tank as well, any suggestions? is the 55 gallon understocked right now?

thanks and hear from you all soon.
