My 55 gallon is way low in terms of number of fish now. It was full of Malawis once upon a time and now it only has three baby Malawis and one adult. I want the take to have cichlids. I am considering selling the fish in there for little money to the lfs or I may restock it with Malawis. What do you recommend? More Malawis or other cichlids? What kind?

I wouldn't count on getting much money if any out of the LFS. I'm personally not a big fan of Malawis, but if you like them then go for it again. Or you could try fish from the other rift lake, Tangyanika. The fish generally stay smaller than those from Malawi, though there are some exceptions.
