There is alot of speculation on how big a figure 8 can get. I am just curious if anyone has actually owned a figure 8 that has grown to 6". If you are out there please let me know. Thanks!

Since the largest museum collection specimen is 6cm, it is not likely to happen. Larger fish misidentified as Figure 8s are usually Ceylons.
The largest I have heard of is 8 cm (3 1/8") and 9 cm (3 1/2).
I would guess there are always exceptions, (example, like the tallest person in the world). The rarity of something happening like this is few and far between and then you'll only have a small increase of size, not double or even triple, but 9, 10 or even 11 cm would be a record, then I would make sure you have the right fish before calling in any world records.

i bought my pair from an entire tank load of full grown adults. mine are both between 2.5"-2.9". i picked mine based on how nice they looked and their temperament. however, the largest in the tank, and that i have ever seen, was around 3.6". i can't imagine them much larger.
