So, you didn't consult him before you laid out the tank....? lol
 
I knew that he would move rock and everything else in his tank (did you notice I said his and not mine) but if he is moving a lot does that mean he really hates the way I have it set up or just he likes to move a lot of rocks?
 
It is completely normal for them to do that, as it is for many cichlids.
 
well i noticed if i dont rearange everything when doing water changes that my oscar did less moving so let him put stuff where he wants it without moving it back and maybe he wont do it as much. one thing that i did notice is that my jack dempsey always put these shells in his little cave to make it so olny he could fit and the bigger fish couldnt. nowmatter where i put them he moved them right back.
 
:cool: I learned my lesson about after a year or so (yes it took that long!). I was determined to aquascape this tank my way. Unfortunately, so was he!! He patiently waited in the corner and watched (taking little notes) as I meticulosly placed this here or that there while I vacuumed. When I was done & placed the covers back on top, he'd look at me & proceed to move, dislodge or cover w/ gravel everything that was so orderly placed. He'd work just as diligently as I had to undo all I had done! You see, he was determined also. The point, this was HIS house!! I surrendered :wall:
