What is your favorite 60-and under gallon cichlids.......

including the debatable ones such as oscars, which i do believe can live in a 55 gallon tank :)

thanx

Herotilapia multispinosa (rainbow cichlid), pretty, mellow, easy to spawn without getting too aggressive. Will even allow tankmates during spawning.

convicts and texas cichlids

Transcriptus closely followed by discus.

I wouldn't keep an oscar in a 55g (a 13'' fish in a 12'' wide tank?).

you made me ink said:
convicts and texas cichlids

I agree! :o

I also like electric blue dempseys!

African lake malawi cichlids (mbuna) :D Or Lake Tangynikan cichlids... or dwarf riverine africans... or dwarf riverine SA/CA cichlids... ahhhh!

And oscars cant really be kept in a standard 55 gallon tank... a 12 inch oscar wont be able to turn around in a 12 inch-wide tank. And if its a wider tank then its only 3 feet long... and that doesnt allow a one-foot oscar much swimming space.

Any small to medium-sized CA cichlids that are hard to find:
A. lyonsi
A. zaliosum
C. bartoni
C. grammodes
C. istlanum

Flowerhorns debatable when mine get bigger they will be a 100+ tank and Severums would have to be my second choice.
