Well I have been doing research on the jaguar cichlid and the housing requirements. I have found mixed opinions, and was just wondering if they can live happily in a 75? this will be solo by the way NO tankmates. Or will I have to go with the 125? thanks for the help.

A very experienced keeper of jags suggests a 90g minimum for a solitary jag. Get the largest tank you can afford, you and your fish will be happier in the long run.

Well no worries about the 75 I just lined up a 100 gallon tank for a very cheap price from one of my friends. Her family just does not want it and I think I will be able to get the tank, stand, hood and all for a very low price!! I think that this tank should probably be good for a jag and a pl*co.

Proper filtration and diligent water changes and you wouldn't have a problem with a 75 gallon. Bigger is always better..but it can be done.

I would fully agree with this, but wouldn't reccomend it. The Jag will go better in the 100 you found, Footprint (tank dimensions ) Play a large part in this as well. I would hesitate to put a jag in my 115 because it is tall but not that long(same as the 75), and a 15" fish would do better in a longer deeper tank IMO. I could easily keep a healthy happy Jag in my 115 but I'm sure it would prefer a 6 foot tank.
