I hope to have my new 75 gallon set up and fully cycled in a couple of weeks. In the mean time, I'm looking for some stocking suggestions. I'm leaning towards a community tank with loads of small, brightly colored, schooling fish.....

Will a lot of small fish get "lost" in a tank of this size? Should I get a few larger "center pieces?"

Are there any good links that provide stocking suggestions with comprehensive info about the fish recommended....ie: prefered parameters, feeding, and pics?

I'm also curious to see how some of the more experienced boardies would stock a community tank of this size.

Well--If I were you:
2 Angels
12 neon tetras
5 cory's of some kind

Good Luck!

if I were to stock it with all small (3" or less) I would have a pair or two of dwarf cichlids either one each of different species or two pairs of the same,
alot, say 30, of a small fish like neons, glowlights, harliquin rasboras or ember tetras, 7 each of two different species of corrie maybe with one of those species being a dwarf species taht only gets to an inch or so.

that would be my idea of stocking if I was to have only small fish in a larger tank like that.

you could also split the school of 30 into two different species with 15 of each of them.

the numbers of the schooling fish would be up to judgement as to what looks good in the tank, if I decide that the school looks really nice after 19 are in there I would stop at that.

I liked snakeice's Idea, I would split the school (as snakeice mentioned) and add a few otos for a little cleanup job.

Thanks for the suggestions. There are so many possible combinations that my head is spinning. I guess I should look into getting more than one tank.
