75G Cichlid Tank

Great looking fish, slappy!

Thanks, RB. I'll try to get a pic of my Senegalus, too. I really want to get a good pic of my Salvini, but she's so shy.

very nice tank and fish slappy! I really like your EBJD.

Thanks! But she's your standard JD, not an electric blue. She just eats very well and has very clean water. ;) She's about 7" right now. I had a beautiful male Salvini in there some time ago and he had several broods with the female. He was gorgeous (lots of blue and red) but unfortunately developed a swim bladder problem and lost his ability to float and had trouble swimming and eating. It was hard for me to do, but I had to put him down. If I ever find another big male Salvini, I'll probably buy another tank just for the pair.

Updated full tank shot. Did a little rearranging last night. The fish are hiding in the decor as usual...but they love it. ;)

Nice lookin tank! :) Great pics of your fish!

Looks awesome

Thanks.
I'm thinking of thinning out the plastic plants or totally redoing the aquascape so I'll be able to see the fish more often. Seems I only see them when they are hungry.
There is about 2" of space behind the back row of plants that they hide behind. I really left that space to ease cleaning the back of the tank, but the fish seem to really like it back there.
I'd really like to open up more swimming space in the front and at the top. I could shorten some of the plants and that would allow more light into the tank.
...or I might eventually just yank out the plastic plants and cover the driftwood with dense mats of java fern and replace the current mixture of 'black gravel and EcoComplete cichlid substrate' with some sand and add a few more rocks/caves.

To be honest, I'm really tempted to turn this into a Jewel cichlid or Angel tank and keep the bichir, as well. We'll see.
