Hi folks i put my hand up i know nothing about marine:help: i have a 100g frontosa setup and recently brought a small marine setup,yep you know whats coming next i love the marine fish that much i want to setup my 100g tank:devil: .there is one problem i have not a clue.can someone pls help and tell me if i could transfere my frontosa tank into marine.
The substrate is coral sand,any good??
I have 2x5ft tubes 1 white 1 red
i have 2x3ft tubes 1 blue 1 white
the filteration is 2 x eheim canister filters work great in tropical
large power head pump
heater is built into eheim canister
lots of lava rock and slate.

If someone could advise me what i could keep and whats a no no:confused:
also advise me on a good protein skimmer

would i be better just setting up a fo aquarium first with some of the equipment just incase??

would be greatfull for any advise,thanx for reading

Ooooh! What fish do you have? I would take the media out of the filters and put in 100-150 pounds of live rock. You can keep it as it is, but you would have top frequently clean the filters, and live rock is in my opinion is a far better filtration method. Berlin, coralife, and euro-reef protein skimmers are great.
 
Basically yes....You wont be using the existing rock in there as you would be substrituting it with live rock.....As said above, run the filters empty for water circulation...Some example brands above for the skimmer brands to look into.....could be a very nice setup there....

can you pls tell me if i have to change all the water in the tank or add salt to it??
