being in this hobby, many times you learn from your mistakes.. . . Also, you tend to change the fish you keep . . ..

What's your story??

Here's mine. . .

- Started with a goldfish bowl... Then I felt bad about keeing it in a bowl and got a 10 gallon.

- Eventually got rid of that and purchased a 30 gallon; set it up as an african cichlid tank.

- Then I purchased a 90 gallon, set it up as a heavily planted freshwater tank, with a black ghost knife, several tetras, and a pleco. beautiful tank!!!

- Tore down the 30 gallon and set it up with Mollies, who bred like maniacs... Eventually got fedup of them though, and tore the tank down.

-At the time I didn't know anything about saltwater, but a friend of mine had a 90 g reef which he wanted to switch to fresh, and pretty much asked if I wanted to do a switch with what I had. I blindly agreed.

- Setup the 90 with a plenum system, Fish only with live rock.

-Changed the plenum to deep sand bed, spent a fortune on live rock, lights, good protien skimmer, calcium reactor, more powerheads, custom canope, fish, and corals. . . The reef tank was born.

-Started growing in beautifully, until tragedy happened cause of a very stupid (but unintentional) thing that my dad did... Tank crashed, everything died except for the Unicorn tang which I managed to give to the LFS... (awesome fish, lots of character)

-Tore everything down, bleached the rocks, and stayed untouched for a while.

-Got a 185g, (recently), a bunch of live rock, deep sand bed, and some fish. It'll eventually be setup as a reef tank....

- Future project; As much as I love salt water tanks, I've finally decided to setup the 90 g as a freshwater heavily planted tank again.. . I really miss that tank. . . ...

Oh and the worst part of it all, NOT ONE PIC of any tank. All I got are memories. . . . :)

What's your story???

Started with three Red Bellied piranhas that were about the size of a quarer. I bought them Halloween morning 2004. First I bought two then I went back for another later. I had them in a ten gallon tank until they were about an inch long. Lost one in the move because of stress I assume. The two of them stayed in the 29g until they were about 5 inches. I was looking for a 55g and about a week before I found it, the bully RB attacked and ate about 60 % of the other RB. So about three weeks after that, I moved him into the 55g where he resides all alone, about 7" long right now. I still have the RBP and I want to stay with piranhas. Right now I am looking into getting a single serrasalmus piranha for that tank and to trade\sell\give away my RB. I am also about to set up my 29g for a pair of breeding firemouths or convicts so I can have healthly feeders to feed to the new guy. I keep saying that but I will get all that setup one day...
