a little help over here

turn the temp up about 5 degrees while there aren't any fish in it as well (dont forget to turn it back down before you put fish in it again).. and stir up the gravel a few times while the temp increases.

ich can't handle the increase in temperature.. especially without a host, and by stirring up the gravel you make sure that there aren't any pockets of uncirculated water

by doing it that way, you wont kill off the bacteria in your filter... so you wont have to re-cycle.

but yes, do add a little bit of ammonia (enough to feed the bacteria while your fish are gone)

Sorry for your loss. It is frustrating to say the least. As a side note, next time you are going to be gone for a week-end or a few days do not use an auto feeder. They are notorious for mal-funtioning and dumping too much food in the water at one time which will mess with your water quality. Fish can go an amazingly long time without food. If you are going to be gone for just a few days don't worry about feeding them. They will be fine until you get back and will appreciate the clean water more then the food.

Aquarisol is copper sulfate

t should kill the ich.
I have use chelated copper and other copper meds and have never had ill effects on bacteria (benefical).ich is a parasite and would not be affected by antibiotics..which can kill bacteria.

typically antibiotics(some ) are detrimental to benefcial bacterial.
