a quick question

Hey everyone,

just a quick question. I'm starting a fish only tank up and i've just added the salt about 3 days ago. I've got it to level out at an appropriate level. My only question is is it normal to have a film of salt residue start to build up on the glass and if so, what's the best way to clean it?

Salt water tank or just adding salt to a freshwater ?

its going to be a sw tank but yes, I just added the first mix of salt and freshwater together. I know that once I have fish in it, I should mix the salt and water in another container and then put in the tank but since it's new I just dumped the salt into the tank.

what you are noticing is salt creep, its normal, just wipe it off.

If you mixed up the saltwater in the aquarium, be sure to allow the solution to settle out, and then siphon out any white residue that might be present on the bottom of the tank.

theres nothing wrong with mixing the salt in an aquarium when your starting it
