about fresh water clams

i have a 29 gallon tank and it has two cichlids in it. i have an electric yellow and a texas cichlid. i need to know if i could put a fresh water clam in there because i am thinking of getting one. also when i read about them it said that they burrow under the gravel. so i was wondering if the cichlids would still find the clam and eat him. also are snails ok with cichlids.

I wouldn't recommend it.
I've heard that their young are parasitic to fish. As well as being filter feeders, getting them to eat enough would be a challenge. And when they die you don't know until they're fouled up your water.
