AC 50 overkill on 16g Bowfront?

Do you think an Aquaclear 50 would be overkill on a 16 gallon bowfront? I plan on stocking it with some shell dwelling cichlids, and maybe a few other compatible small fish.

Not at all, they can also be turned down alittle, i wouldn't hesitate to use a 70........

An AC 50 is plenty on a 16g tank, but not overkill in my opinion.

over filterings your friend. if the current is too strong, you could always make some kinda shield

There's no such thing as overfiltering, but there is such thing as too much current. If your fish are being blown around the tank, cut the flow a bit.
