I just got a crack in the filter case of an AC50. So, I patched the crack with some Acrylic cement from a local dollar store. There isn't a leak anymore, but I was just wondering... Would it be safe for the fishes in the tank that has the filter?

*** The filter is still not in use with fishes...

I guess I just have to find out myself... >.< There are many reports of making an acrylic aquarium using acrylic cement...

-.- Then, it is safe for the fishes. ^.^

acryic cement is used in the construction of acrylic aquariums as well as bonding acrylic in other uses.

once it dries..it's pretty safe.

Okay then, just as a clarification... Now I can get the media for the filter and start the cycling of the filter media :)

Thank you. That will be very useful on a 20H :)

ive built all of my tanks using acrylic cement, and ther havent been any adverse effects.

Setup with media in the 20H, but isn't filter as much water as I expected. I guess I'll be looking for something that might be causing this.

Thank you :)
