Adding male convict

I have a 55-gallon tank with 3 female cons and 2 JDs (one of the JDs is getting bullied by the other so im gonna get rid of it). I would like to add a male and breed the cons. Should I get rid of two of the females so its just one male and one female or leave all the females in there and let the male choose his mate?

if you add another con at this point, chances are he could get harassed. if you want him to have a fair chance, you will need to rearrange all of the decor to mix up territories.

You're going to want to think about relocating the mates to another tank, or face some dead tank mates when the eggs are laid and it's time to defend the nest.
