I've used the EI method in the past and while I understand that some people do not like the "work" put into it I do not understand why so many are worried about a nutrient overload...

Anyways, I have never used other methods like PMDD or PPS so I was just curious to hear from those that have dabbled in multiple to see...are there really any noticeable differences?

I used to dose seachems line, towards the end I was dosing double the recomended amount in everything but Iron and phosphorus but even they were gettin about 1 and 1/2 times the recomended amount..

Now I am making my own fert mixes, a mix of tom barr recipe and the good recipe for my micros.. I dose them daily in same amounts and also still dose a little extra iron as when I switched to this I got rid of some issues but got some in return as far as deficiency.. one of these days I will get the perfect formula for me down.. it all depends on your own tank as they all have different fert needs and should be messed with accordingly..

Well.............EVERY method suggest adding the same things, just perhaps in different amounts.
Some suggest non limiting, other feel limiting is better.

I focus more on light and CO2/non CO2, not nutrient,s since these define the rates of uptake and the goals we have with rates of growth.

In other words, look holistically at things.

We all are sort of lazy in many respects, so less work.
Less pruning, less water changes, less testing, less worrying etc...........

You can tweak any method and modify it, I'd say that is true for ANY method.
Simply add more/less to suit and observe plants closely.

I would suggest mastering CO2(or the non CO2 method) and using moderately low light. This has the highest rates of success and is the easiest to manage. Likewise, a nutrient rich sediment is also a good idea, less demand on the water column dosing, so they complement eachother.

More wiggle room all around this way, much more holistic than a one trick pony that frets over just........nutrients.
