Happy Holidays to all! I have a ALL-GLASS Aquarium 24" Fluorescent aquarium Reflector light 120 volt 19 watt 60 hz. Unfortunately it is not working properly. I have tried to replace the bulb two or three times and they burn out after only a couple of weeks. I have had the reflector light for a few years now. I have tried looking online to purchase another one and need some advise on the best affordable one to purchase. The reflector light has to lie ontop of the glass cover of my 36 gallon bow tank. I have read the reviews on these reflector lights and many have had the same problem that they don't last. Any advise is appreciated.

Moved to FW.

You could always buy one of the FW LED lights like the ones that Marineland makes. Lots of other cheap LED options out there.

Unfortunately, none of them are made the way they used to be. Sounds like your fixture has a bad ballast. Today's electronic ballasts are junk IMO. Total hit/miss. You can have one last decades, others fail in a few years. If you want to stick with a 24" fluorescent strip light, I see Amazon has them for $37.49. http://www.amazon.com/All-Glass-Aquarium-Black-Fluorescent-Strip/dp/B0002AS6TA

Other than that, try to find an older fixture with a magnetic ballast and starter. Those last forever.

Well I ended up buying an Aqueon Modular LED Aquarium light 24" it takes 3 LED light bulbs but one LED bulb seems to be enough light for the fish. The light includes an moon glow accent which is pretty cool. So far is working out great. I spent a good penny on this light so it better last lol! Thanks for the advise I did look at some strip lights but found that most people encountered the same problem as I did with them and I figured to go with the LED which I was told would last longer than the strip light guess we shall see.
