My African Brown Frog who my housemate has named frogzilla moved into the luxurious beastie_boy apartments 2-3 months ago. He had a week or so of intrigue but after then he happily swam where he liked and eats frequently.

The last week however he appears to hide in an ornament and only comes out for food. He eats as normal then after a few mins returns to his hideout.

Now I call him a he but that's prob me being sexiest towards the Zilla monster as he could well be a she which may throw light on this.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why Frogz may appear to be sulking in his room while the other singles come out and flirt.

Any help welcome, thanks

What is water quality? Frogs hate bad water quality and it could be trying to hide to get away from the water quality. High ammonia, nitrite, and/or nitrate will burn their skin along with their gills. So I would say do a massive water change and this should help. Anyway, hope this helps.

Water quality...

I will clean the tank and change 25% of the water and 25% in a few days. I am not sure if that is the problem as it sounds funny that the frog could be hiding in the water away from the water.

But you could be right and I am very willing to take your advice. I will let you know wether his mood picks up after the water change.

thanks
