my 3 african cichlids are all having wierd trembles and there not eating sometimes they just stop what there doing and shake violently what does this mean

just had a pictus cat die in the tank it had a white film type thing coming off of it

the fish are trying to rub there sides against the decorations in the tank it looks like there trying to get something off of thereselves please help

its eather ich, but when my cichlid did this and rub themself once in a while it just means they are clameing their spot.

When they shake is their mouth open?

Well vibrating in one spot is usually either a show of dominance or a courtship ritual. Rubbing themselves on the rocks could be as well, but usually is an indicator that something is bothering them, or its an onset of ich.

What are you water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? How long has the tank been set up? Whats the size? How many fish? What fish?

there ok i had a friends dad who got me into fish keeping come over to check them out he said it was ick or ich however he gave me a chemical to put in its copper sulfate

Don't know if its the same shake but all my africans do it. Had some of them for over 4 years so I know thier healthy. I think its more of a warning to the other fish but not sure.
