After five years in my saltwater world I still find things in my tank that amaze my simple little mind. Recently I have observed some of my brittle stars fluorecing with brilliant flashes of green. Like little green lighning bolt shooting down there legs. I have never heard of such activity from a brittle star in a tank or in the wild. Has anybody ever personally experiened this themselves? Or mayby ID the species?
For quite a while now I have noticed a couple of my tube worms excreting what I thought was a slime. I kept attempting to clean this slime out of my tank until I realized that the slime was acting as a food collection device. Kinda like a spiderweb. I observed the worm slowly pulling the long strands of slime back into the worms calcareous home after it had been saturated with floating particulate. Wow! I how have dubbed him "spider worm". Can anybody identify this speicies of worm or mayby its family.
I know, I know simple things for simple minds but I thought I would share anyway with hope that somebody might share some similiar experiences or there expertise.
Thanx G.L.C
