AGA triple tube strips

I'm considering getting one of those. One of the reasons is the ability to run those lights with some of the bulbs missing (as several people have stated in their posts). However, in an email I just received from AGA answering a few questions I had, it says

"The unit is wired so that all bulbs must be in to work"

So, if anybody's using this - which is true? Can you run it with a missing bulb?

probably an electronic ballast, which in most cases will keep one bulb running if one is burnt out.

I could be wrong though.

I'm pretty sure I read somebody saying they used it with 2 of the 3 bulbs. Can't find it anywhere, though.
