Aggressive neon tetras?

Hey all, I had 4 neon tetras in my tank for a little over a month, yesterday I decided to add two more to the tank, I've noticed that it seems like the two new ones(i'm assuming) are being run off by the other 4 and are hiding in the plants. Is this normal? I've heard that sometimes it just takes some time for them to establish a pecking order and decide whose the boss. Will this last or will they eventually work it out and live happily together.

Plants: Water wisteria, java fern, and anubias. Also a large piece of driftwood in the tank, so there are plenty of hiding places.

Yeah that can happen, especially with small numbers and a couple of dominant types. I have had silvertips fight to the death but that is unlikely with neons.
 
Thanks for the info. I had also noticed that when I fed them they acted more aggressive, should I cut down on the feeding until they get used to each other?
 
If you cut back on feeding the aggressive ones will get all the food. They should be one happy family soon at any rate.
 
i have a school of 20 neons in my 29gallon tank,and they are always very active and some do chase each other around a lot, they have been together for months now,so im guessing its just something they like to do.
 
Try and move your decor around a little next water change. It may make them establish new territories/habits.
