Transfer of agressive african dwarf frog....UGF Question
Hi and thanks for reading. A few weeks ago I decided to add 2 African D. Frogs to my 10 Gal. tank, which was also home to 2 Panda Corys and 2 Otos. Within a week one of our Otos had a huge leision on it's dorsal fin, it grew progressivly worse over the next 24 hrs, and it passed. Then about a week later the smaller of the 2 frogs turned up with a leision on it's hind limb and also passed within 24 hrs.
The other day I noticed the larger frog (and only one left) nipping at the Corys, and decided that she is the culprit. I would very much like to transfer her to a 2 Gal Hex tank while my fish are still alive and unharmed. The only problem is that the Hex uses a UGF and I am not too clear on how to maintain it (as I use hanging filters on all of my larger tanks). I understand how the UGF process works, but I am unsure on whether or not I will need to clean underneath the plate, and if so how often. I am clear on water changes and gravel cleaning, it's the plate that has me confused. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
