Transfer of agressive african dwarf frog....UGF Question

Hi and thanks for reading. A few weeks ago I decided to add 2 African D. Frogs to my 10 Gal. tank, which was also home to 2 Panda Corys and 2 Otos. Within a week one of our Otos had a huge leision on it's dorsal fin, it grew progressivly worse over the next 24 hrs, and it passed. Then about a week later the smaller of the 2 frogs turned up with a leision on it's hind limb and also passed within 24 hrs.
The other day I noticed the larger frog (and only one left) nipping at the Corys, and decided that she is the culprit. I would very much like to transfer her to a 2 Gal Hex tank while my fish are still alive and unharmed. The only problem is that the Hex uses a UGF and I am not too clear on how to maintain it (as I use hanging filters on all of my larger tanks). I understand how the UGF process works, but I am unsure on whether or not I will need to clean underneath the plate, and if so how often. I am clear on water changes and gravel cleaning, it's the plate that has me confused. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ADF's actually like still water that's heavily planted. you could get away with removing the filter completely if you didn't mind doing complete water changes every week or so. if there is a filter, the current needs to be pretty weak, and you still need plants. i've never had an under gravel filter, so i cant help with your actual question, though.

Awesome, that actually sounds a lot easier. I did notice that ADF's don't produce as much waste as fish so I was hoping someone would say I don't need a filter. As far as complete water changes I have no problem with that either, it is much easier considering the size of the Hex. Also would you advise against putting another ADF in with her given her agressive nature? If I do add another I will make sure it is a male rather than 2 females like last time.

I really doubt it's aggressive...

I've had them, I love them. However, they are lazy, stupid and have ****-poor eye sight. When I put food in mine constantly lunge at the same peice and end up (sometimes) getting an entire limb of another frog in their mouth. They let go, freak out and it's usually just comedy.

You don't get much more peaceful than these guys, if you ask me.

I always forget the difference, but are you sure it is an ADF and not a clawed frog? Just in case!!!
