AHHH!

One of my children (the first) would cry and cry and cry at night. It broke my heart. I would sit with her and rock her for hours and just weep. She didn't have cholic, but ear infections and nightmares (really long story).

I understand that you're frustrated, but remember that there is a young mom next door who is just as tired and may feel at a loss. Sometimes you have to walk away and let them cry, not for your sake but for the baby's safety. Totally honesty here - there were a few times that I didn't go back in because I was so exhausted and angry and frustrated that I was afraid that I would say something or do something and I would just sit on the floor and cry. I was blessed enough to have an apartment neighbor that would come over the next morning on "long nights" and just sit with her and would make me go nap - even though she was tired because she could hear my baby crying also. But having gone through it herself, she empathized and did what she could to help me.

If you have the ability to do something like that for your neighbor, it might be a bigger blessing than you realize.;)

Well, considering I have 4 kids....yeah I know all about the 1-5am crying...what about the mother crying from 6-9 after the baby finally stops:drool:
