Does any one have experience with this fish== emperor snapper?
I have one been looking for info on the net regarding them . Found some decent resources but am looking to speak with someone that has some good info on them. I got a juvenile one at this time , found out that they grow fast , need min tank sizes of 180 gallons. Some dietary information etc they eat crustaceans and other invertebrates :0( , when i bought the fish at the LFS they told me that it would be ok for the reef tank and will get to a good size , be better in a FO tank however from reading up on it , i have found out it will grow to a massive size not good for a 75 gallon tank. I am worried about my coral now , will it pick on it? AHHHH i hate it when the LFS tells you that somthing will be ok to make a sale , My fault as well i know better than to buy before knowing about somthing, impulse buy i guess....Sorry im just venting as i am worried about my tank inhabitants now. Please help with any info you might find if you can Thanks in advance for the help muchly appreciated.

They should be okay when young but that fish will grow EXTREMELY quickly, and grows to ah, around 3 feet  ! So for now it should be okay unless you have crabs and snails and such as it may go after that since it is closely related to the grouper family. Also I believe a 180 is still to small for a full grown Emp. I would say 250 minimum. Also if you keep him well fed he will not bother your corals but he will also produce more waste and grow faster. Is there anyway you can return him? I hope you learned from this, we all make mistakes, I wouldn't worry too much, but I would try to fix it before it grows to huge proportions!
