Bought an Albino Pleco today and boy do i like this fish. it has an almost all white belly with red eyes and its absolutely gorgeous! its about 5 inches long and is perfectly healthy.

something i noticed is that sometimes it gets scared and starts swimming very fast around the tank and it crashes into the glass and unearths all my plants!

what could be wrong? new tank jitters?

also how much would one cost? just wanna know if i paid alot. i got it for $13 at my LFS :headbang2:
 
Is this an albino bristlenose pleco? What other tank mates does he live with? Could be just spooked from the new tank but usually mine just settle right in. What are the water conditions like? Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate?

they like caves and places to hide. Plec's are nocturnal and really don't like the light very much.

mine lve driftwood tangles .
in mosrt of my tanks with plecs I have driftwood I purposely look for that will make a cave when it is placed in the tank. 9 times out of 10 that's where the plecs are.
 
it would help to know what kind of pleco it is. . . a bristlenose isn't going to get much bigger, but an albino common (hypostamus or gibbicep) is going to grow a whole bunch.
 
most likely a bristle nose pleco. hes settling just fine now. amonia and nitrates are 0

where can i get some good driftwood?
