I have a bad case of algae, especially the brown algae. It is below the rockline, and I have light colored rocks so it's VERY annoying. :mad2:

I also bought some tetras which I think were in poor quality or something, one has almost -no- pupil on one of it's eyes, other has a very light brown spot behind it's top fin. I got them a few days ago, all are still alive.. so I'm treating with Melafix as precaution because they are new fish, and because of the brown spot.

Would it be OK to mix algae remover drops with Melafix? I also have a few live plants, will the algae remover affect them?

Algae is only slightly lower on the chain than plants so in my opinion I would think it would be bad for your plants. Unless it say specifically on the bottle its safe for plants.
