As most of you know, I want to start up a 10 gallon with a Lego theme. The 10 gallon is cycling and all I need is Lego. My concern is that when I put in the Lego, there is going to be a lot of algae growth on all surfaces.

If I get a Dwarf Red Lobster, I can't get any bottom feeders or algae eaters because they will rest on the bottom of the tank and get attacked by the Lobster.

So my question is that, is there anything for the Aqua Clear Mini that I can do to control algae growth? (I have two AC Mini's)

Actually, regular water changes, avoid overfeeding, and maybe add some real plants (duckweed works fairly well, and isn't subject to consumption by most fish) will help more than any chemical you might add, and will be better for the tank in th elong run. Avoid adding algae foods--phosphates are commonly found in pH changers, so avoid those, and watch the foods you use as well.

Even though it probably grows too big for a 10 gallon, Hornwort is good for that, because fish don't like the taste... Or at least in my experience.

It's a plant :D More commonly used in ponds because of how large it becomes... It sorta looks like Cabomba ;)
