i just set up a new 60 gallon tank and i have had plants in a 29 gallon and i converted everything to the 60 gallon. i did this on friday i also used phosguard to eliminate alge. what should i do because the plants that i have that looked good in my 29 now look bad because they have alge on them.

thanks for all of your help

Re-establish the balance of lighting and nutrients for the long term. You had the balance in the 29, it'll take some time to get it in the 60. Depending on the type of algae and plants affected, there are several things you could do. Look in the Aquatic Plants Forum here at AC, there is a sticky on algae at the top of the page. It should be very helpful.

try some snails, I started to get some alge growth on one of my plants, then when the snails started to bread the alge all went away, the only problem I have now, Is that I have have to many snails, but I right now am cutting their numbers down, and they are not an eyesore anymore, I think I have a good balance and they have stopped laying eggs (to the best of my knolage)
