..all my life.

I think that is a common symptom of teenageness, fish or not.

Don'tcha just love it when a teenager won't take advice because " I've had fish all my life",and the person offering the advice has been keeping fish for several of the teenager's lifetimes?

What are you talking about? when I was 6 years old I "KNEW" exactly what I was doing

Lol, I used to be like that a few years ago, but then I started hanging around online forums such as this one and talking to older/wiser people and Now I am the most opened minded 16 year old you will meet!

That's great Zep !

But most teens hang out in chat and forums with other all knowing teens and only become even MORE all knowing as they all sit around whining about the parents and how incredibly stupid we can be.

I'm glad to know there are some out there smart enough to try and learn from experience. ;)

Strange thing is,

When I was a teenager, I thought I had it all figured out. Now that I'm 28, I'm thinking that I know next to nothing. . . . For all the amount of stuff there is to know out there . . ..

On the other hand, if I started posting some of the advice that was the "correct" advice when I started 30 years ago, I'd probably get my head chopped off. It seems like a lot the stuff that worked for everyone back then just couldn't possibly work now. ;)

Do not think that having spent more time doing something automatically makes you a greater authority than others. That's foolish ;)
I see the point you're all making, but 'experience' does not necessarily equal knowledge. Eg, if you have been a teacher for 30 years, that does NOT mean you are a better teacher than someone who only just qualified. However, you will probably think it does because 'they never would have taught like that in your day', and, shock horror, they may have some better ideas than you.

Just saying. Someone needs to argue the opposition. :)
