I've had it a couple of months. The 1st week it opened more, but not much now... I don't know if there's too much/not enough light, it was near water flow- now I moved it out of the main current...

I have a 18 gallon tank (13 gallons in front of false back) with 72 watts of PC light... I have them on for about 10 hours, but only 8 at full 72 watts...

All my water levels are great... I do have a little cyano bacteria problem that I posted about in this same "Reef Keepers" forum.

There was a little of that on top of the alviopora, but I brushed it off lightly... Other than that I have ricordea mushrooms and candy (trumpet) coral... By the way, do either of these 3 things need to be fed specially?

To be honest, the LFS didnt mention feeding. and I havent fed it. It;s been 3 months. I feed the clowns, cleaner shrimp, and crabs frozen brine shrimp. How should I feed the alveopora, ricordea mushrooms and candy (or trumpet) coral???? HELP

Hi Val. I did a little re-reading over the weekend, and I didn't like what I saw. Similar to goniopora (which is a no-no) alveopora can be difficult to keep because its needs are incompletely known. It probably requires zooplankton or phytoplankton feeding, and seems to do best in large systems with refugia. It often appears to do well for months, and then stop extending and finally dies.

You might try something like DTs phytoplankton or cyclopeez to get it some nutrition.

Thanks for the research! How would I get those? (foods)
Are they alive? sorry for not being educaret on this!
