hellom everyone, I have a quick question. Can Amazon swords survive and grow in a 1wpg setting? I was told it was possible at my lfs and since it was only $2.99 I almost went for it. If it can, I'll pick one up tonight!

Anyone know about any of these plants? They both look okay, i couldnt find any info on them online
Lubia (sp?)
Sandriana (sp?)

Thanks

Amazon swords need a little more light than 1wpg, preferably in the 2wpg range but you can get away with 1.5wpg.

Don't know about lubia but does the sandriana look like bamboo? If it does then it's Dracaena sanderiana, which isn't an aquatic plant and shouldn't be completely submerged.

A lot will depend on tank depth. In a shallow tank maybe but in anything over a 10 gallon probably not. Of course for that price it may be worht a shot.

I have 1wpg also and I bought what I'm almost sure is amazon sword and it's slowly dying.

Sandriana is the bamboo type plant.I got suckered into buying it too because it was different than any other plant there.Mine grew ok,didn't die.But I pulled them out anyway. They are no growing fine half submerged in a cup of water next to the window.
