Hi all great forum, glad i have found it. Anyway my problem is i set up my tank, 55 gal with canister type filter proquatics 1600 let the tank cycle checked water then had fish store check water all was good then one week later checked water, salt & temp next morning all 4 fish dead with the ammonia sky high, what would cause this ? the water has turned cloudy i know i will have to start all over but would like to no what went wrong thanks for all info.

What'd you cycle with, for how long, and what kind of fish did you throw in there. If you did a fishless cycle, four fish is kind've a load, though I'm surprised it shut up enough to kill all four. Was one or two dead in there for awhile? You're going to have an ammonia spike every time you add a fish to a new tank. The bacteria needs time to catch up. That's why it's usually best to just add in small amounts. I personally wouldn't start over, just start slower.
