Not new to the hobby, but, have been away for a couple of years. I have a 55 salt that was my backup quarantine tank. I just got that up and running again. It was sitting for 4 or more years with live rock and no fish and NO maintainence. Amazingly enough there were still signs of life in the rocks.

Goal is to get my 150 back up and running. It was the subject of catastrophic failure about 4 years ago. A Oceanic tank, the glass center support collpased inward taking the lights into the tank. Sadly most of my fish jumped to their deaths.

Bought a new sump filter for the 150 on ebay, it was the only place that had a complete solution for a filter? I live right next to That Fish Place, they had nothing when I asked? Said I had to piece it together myself.

2 out of 3 of my initial fish went belly up? Yet the 2 snails I bought and a clown are happy as clams? Makes no sense to me as my water quality is ok. Gladly they were inexpensive fish that checked out.

Hope to learn a lot from the site, you can never know it all...

I had forgotten how this stuff adds up so quickly! There is always something you need to have to make it better...
