Just had to post a update and share my excitement with all of you wonderful people who helped me.
My tank is CYCLED! Yipppeeee! I was starting to think it would never happen, patience is NOT my strong point. LOL
I waited two days getting 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites...then did a water change, added my plants and ....got my fish tonight!!
So far I have...
7 Rummynose Tetras
4 Julie Cory's
2 male guppys...my husband wanted them. LOL
I am still hoping to add a pair of German Blue Rams, I will wait until after the New Year and if my tank is staying nice and stable I will have my LFS order them for me.
I have had to do some research on my tank as my buffer was really low in my tap water. My water parameters now are...
ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 10
PH 7.0 and holding
KH 40 or 2dH
The KH was a really low 20, so I am using baking soda and brought the levels up to 40. I will still try to slowly bring it up a little higher maybe, but I am going to do twice weekly water changes probably. I don't know if you all remember my other post, but my PH was bouncing around because my buffer was depleting so fast, thanks for your help on that!
The fish are settling in nicely and sure are more fun to watch then an empty tank. LOL The Rummynose school so well and are fun to watch. The cory's are having a great time checking out everything and surfing the rocks. The guppys are just looking for food I think. LOL
Everyone have a Happy Holiday and thanks SO MUCH for all of your wonderful help!
