I just noticed one of my angels lips are really fat, is this some kind of a disease/illness I should be worried about?

From Angelsplus.com:
My angel fish have developed a large, bubble-like growth on their lips. They are having difficulty eating. What is this? What you're seeing is probably a lip fibroma. There is a study that suggests this is caused by a virus, that only activates when the angelfish is under stress. There is some evidence that it usually affects female angelfish, or at least that they are more susceptible. There is no cure, just as the cure for most viruses have not been found. I would not try to use such an angelfish as a breeder, because no one knows if there is a genetic factor influencing the angel fish's susceptibility to this virus. Euthanasia is generally recommended to prevent a slow death by starvation. However, some have reported being able to carefully cut the growth off and not have it re-grow.
Maybe this can help?

be really careful with the clove oil as it is also used to euthanize fish. The only difference between its use as an anesthetic and a mercy-killing agent is quantity.

Go to the Goldfish and Aquarium Board (GAB). They've got good info on more than just goldfish.

This page in particular will be useful if you need to sedate the fish: http://thegab.org/Articles/SedateFinquelCloveOil.html

In my opinion, your problem lies in the fact that you have 4 angelfish in a 29 gallon tank (if I'm reading your tagline correctly). They need at least 10 gallons per fish to stake out territories and such. That may have caused the stress that made the fish suseptible to this disease...but that's just my two cents. Take it as you will.

it 'sounds' viral to me and as such, is typically neither curable nor treatable but might be contagious. surgury? you might well end up killing the fish due to stress and i'd definitely not recommend it. if the fish is not eating due to this problem, i'd consider euthanasia

sounds like lip fibroma

and as suggested..you can perform surgery may survive and live a few more years. I know of a breeder who did this successfully and the angel lived about 3 years longer.

or you can put it down if the lip starts to interfere with the fishes ability to eat.
