Angel laying eggs need help

THEY ARE HATCHING!
im so excited lol.. a handfull (about 6 or7 i guess) turned white, the parents arent disposing of them though.....
I set up a 5 gallon tank filled it with water from the parents tank. I dont have a sponge filter like everything i have read suggests..can I use a power filter if i put a sponge on the intake and slow the out-put current? and do i need a air stone in there for them?

Not moving them just yet but im getting prepared.

Another question...where do I get brine shrimp eggs? I looked at petsmart and they didnt have any.

I have always found brine shrimp eggs at petsmart they usually keep them in the fish food section.

you can use a power filter but you will need to reduce the flow as the fry won't be able to swim away (freeswimmers get caught in the sponges)

if you can..get a sponge filter. if not a blaock of foam would work
you shouldn't need an airstone once the wigglers get to freeswimmer..but keep it away from the babies as the turbulance may cause issues.

Hmm should I just take the whole intake tube off and put it into the 5 gallon? What if some fall off? Im paranoid that Im gonna mess this up some how...

you can take the whole tube off ..these are hatching ??
they usually move the wigglers(newly hatched fry) the wigglers will have tails and are stuck to whatever surface theparents deem fit you can easily remove wigglers..they aren't stuck like eggs. use a turkey baster and gently draw the wigglers in the turkey baster..you should then try to stick the wigglers to an object (rock or leaves work). they will wiggle for 3-4 days then start swimming.

well.. yeah they are wigglers, so i can put a large rock in the 5 gal and just stick'em on ther eand they should be fine...kool kool

Ok, well im going to look into a sponge filter and get some brine shrimp eggs.

Im back...the only brine shrimp eggs they had were the "Sally's Hatch Mix" brine shrimp eggs and salt, by San Fransisco Bay Brand.

that will work..it is a premix..you can dechlor the water I don't and I get good hatches..but if you have chloramine you might want to.

the bbs will take about 24-48 hrs to hatch..I use a gallon jar half full and stick an airstone in with the eggs..the directions on the package are pretty clear.

oh and in about 2 weeks your angels may lay eggs again

ok..thanks, ill get them started tomarrow morning.

Do I need to add peroxide or anything to the tank for fungus?

For future reference - get a flat piece of slate, lean it up against a side or corner in the back of the tank, they'll lay on that next time. Then move it to a bare tank w/ sponge filter (just run the sponge filter in main tank to seed it as soon as you see eggs, move slate & filter jsut before hatching, earlier if anyone eats eggs...)

They have been wigglers for 3 days now, shouldnt they be freeswimming soon? I can clearly see eyes, and the yolk sack is still rather large.

I did a test run on some bbs, Im a bad harvester lol. How on earth do you get them up without leftover(unhatched) eggs and eggshells? I used a light and tried to suck them up with a baster but it's rather difficult. Any tips on this would be wonderful.
