I have a large angel that had eggs but no mate .There are a few smaller angel in the tank but they dont even go near her .Is this a normal behavor to lay eggs with out a mate.?
It happens. Time to try some larger angels and see who will eventually pair up with her but it can be difficult considering angelfish choose their partner and most of the time, it is difficult to determine whether you have a male or not. Sometimes two females will pair up but no fertile eggs will result anyway.
Eggs are fairly common from my GT. She has no mate, nor anything that would "substitute" for one. Water changes with cold or cooler water often triggers spawning or egg laying. Guess the cooling off gets things moving!
