Is there a small breed of angel fish that would work in my 60 gal community tank?

There are currently 3 distinct species of angelfish.

1. Altum the largest of the angels frequently attaining heights of 11"+(includes fins)
2. Scalare- the most common of the angels and the one you see most often which can attain ht's over 9" with some reaching monsterous sizes ( I have personally seen scalare over 11"-measured)
3. Leopoldi the smallest of the angels attaining ht's of 5-7"(including fins)
the leopoldi makes up for it's msller stature in attitude.

all should be fine in a 60 g tank depending on the tank mates.

Neither do guppies.

I'm not sure the red eared slider would be the best thing for your angel... they're generally slow-moving fish unless they're spooked... they can move quick for short bursts, but I'd be willing to bet that if the turtle were so inclined, it could catch and eat/damage an angel. Just my 2 cents...

Thanks everyone. Ill look around. As far as my red eared slider being a problem. He is very small and so far has shown no interest in chasing the fish. He does form time to time follow the ghost shrip around. I know he will eventually become an agressive hunter of anything small enough to eat. I have another tank with his name on it for when that day comes.
As for the Serpaes not mixing well. Is is a fin nipping problem or are the angels the problem?

Serpaes are notorious fin nippers... they would chew up the angel.
