My juvenile angel won't eat. He's small - about nickel size. He's hanging at the surface in the corner of the tank about 50% of the time. He seems interested in food and will "come a runnin" when he sees me approach the tank. He follows the food but doesn't eat. I've tried flake food, frozen shrimp and dried worms -- no luck. I'm considering placing him in a breeding net with food but I don't want to stress him further. My tank parameters are: Ammonia = 0, Nitrates = 0, Temp = 78F. I'm adding salt and currently have 15 tsp in a 29 gal tank. Any suggestions?

I've had him ~2 months. I"m adding salt cuz I had Ich in this tank 3 mos ago and I saw 1 fish flash a couple of times about 1 week ago. Tank is somewhat overcrowded I know, but I do regular changes and test frequently.

2 Elec Yellow Labs: (2" & 3")
I know I'll eventually have to re-home the Yellows or some Angels. Right now everybody is getting along great - no aggression yet. Oh yeah, tank is "moderately" planted.
Have you added any chemicals to the tank? Or rinsed the filters in tap water? I'm wondering if you are having a mini cycle of some kind. Might not be, but it is hard to say for sure w/out the nitrite results. I would have your LFS test for you next time you can get to the store, just to know. Does the fish show any other symptoms of anything?
Not added anything but the salt and haven't messed with the filter. I lost 1 other angel about 10 days ago which was also hanging at the surface in the corner. So when this little guy started I got worried. I'd really hate to lose him. He has some whitish/clear excrement hanging. May be that color cuz he's not eaten in a few days? None of the other fish are bothering him. He just hangs in the corner, swims some for awhile and goes back to his corner. He is attracted to the food and will come out and even follow the follow the food but doesn't actually eat. Took me a few days to realize he wasn't actually eating.
