Angels, Gouramis, Rainbows

Okay, since I already have 6 dwarf gourami in my other tank, maybe I'll just go with (4) angels and (6) rainbows in my 40g. Would that work?
And a few corys?
What kind of pleco would stay small enough to work here? Aren't there some that stay under 8"? Or should I just get a few SAE? (Are GAE more like SAE or CAE?)

I have no idea if rainbows will work with angels, however rainbows are really active in the middle water column where angels hang out.

Just my opinion and not based on anything experience-wise, but I think the bows and angels will get in each other's faces.

I currently have a Pearl Gourami and Angel with two Rainbows. They all co-exist peacefully.

I initially had a 'Blue Gourami' and that one was very very agressive and would not stop chasing the rainbow, it was returned promptly.

Pearl Gourami's are the most peaceful of all Gourami's.

Yes, but please bear in mind that two rainbows is not a school and it's really not good for them to be solitary like that. A school of rainbows is a lot more active than just two of them.

Would the bigger footprint make much of a difference? The 40 breeder as compared to the 40 regular/tall/whatever.

i recently bought 2 sunset gouramis, male+female. they're settling in fine, just any hints?
